Please be aware that local taxi unions in Nainital have placed restrictions on outside vehicles for local sightseeing. Due to these restrictions:
Local sightseeing must be done using Nainital-registered local cabs.
Outstation vehicles, especially tourist taxis, are often not allowed to operate for sightseeing within Nainital.
Large vehicles like Tempo Travellers are also not permitted in Nainital town limits due to narrow roads and local regulations.
If you are planning a trip with a larger group, it is highly recommended to use two 6-seater vehicles (like Innova or Ertiga) instead of booking a Tempo Traveller.
This will ensure a smoother travel experience and avoid inconvenience due to local enforcement or access restrictions.
